The new price comes less than a month after the Tokyo Game Show (http://www.tomshardware.com/news/sony-event-tokyo-game-show,30090.html), where the company dropped the price down to 34,980 yen, the equivalent to about $292 USD. More importantly, this puts the PS4 in direct competition with the 500 GB version of the Xbox One, just in time for holiday shopping. Last week, Xbox introduced a slew of bundles for Rise of the Tomb Raider (http://news.xbox.com/2015/09/xbox-one-rise-of-the-tomb-raider-bundle), Fallout 4 (http://news.xbox.com/2015/10/xbox-one-get-the-ultimate-fallout-experience-coming-exclusively-on-xbox-one-this-november), and even a special holiday bundle (http://news.xbox.com/2015/09/xbox-one-1tb-holiday-bundle) that includes the Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, Rare Replay and Ori and the Blind Forest.
