The global economic environment is a challenge that many of you around the world are no doubt experiencing. We’re seeing high global inflation rates, as well as adverse currency trends, impacting consumers and creating pressure on many industries. Based on these challenging economic conditions, SIE has made the difficult decision to increase the recommended retail price (RRP) of PlayStation 5 in select markets across Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), Asia-Pacific (APAC), Latin America (LATAM), as well as Canada. There will be no price increase in the United States.

The new RRPs below are effective immediately unless otherwise noted.*



Europe

PS5 with Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive – €549.99
PS5 Digital Edition – €449.99




UK

PS5 with Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive – £479.99
PS5 Digital Edition – £389.99




Japan (effective Sept. 15, 2022)

Sony acaba de anunciar una subida de precio para su PlayStation 5. La subida tendrá "efecto inmediato" y desde la empresa esgrimen que se debe a "las elevadas tasas de inflación mundial" y a las "tendencias monetarias adversas".

Así pues, Sony ha decidido subir el precio de la consola, tanto en su versión con lector de discos como la digital. Los nuevos precios son los siguientes:

Si, y por suerte en USA aparentemente no lo subirían, que si de poder comprarlo desde acá sería por Amazon Global por lo que tampoco nos influiría demasiado... espero.

Ni idea de dónde vienen las PS5 que se venden acá, pero si aumentan el precio para LATAM supongo que van a transferir el aumento al consumidor final. Creo que eso tendría sentido.

¿Por cómo saben que no aumentará 80 acá? Bien podrían ser 100. Es lo que no me cierra. ¿Los comercios de plaza van a absorber el costo adicional sólo porque tenían margen de ganancia?
