Old chipset driver faster than new
As is well known, a chipset driver is also mandatory for AMD. But there are also things to consider when testing. AMD states that version 6.06 or newer should be used for Ryzen 9000. Officially, 6.07 has been available since July 26th , but this proved to be slower than the 6.06 offered under NDA. So everything went back and tested with that.
In the end, there were now almost a dozen combinations of BIOS, AGESA and chipset drivers that had to be examined before the actual testing could even begin. The editors decided on the last BIOS with AGESA 1.2.0.0a Patch A and the second to last chipset driver. However, it is already obvious that the results could look different in two weeks with the respective updates in all areas.
